Tunis/Tunisia — “Al Watania” bloc favours the decision of PM-designate Hichem Mechichi to form a technocratic government, head of the bloc Hatem Mliki said on Wednesday.
Al Watania bloc (11 MPs) plans to vote confidence in the future government, he added, saying the decision will be taken on the eve of the plenary dedicated to vote.
During his meeting with Mechichi Wednesday in Dar Dhiafa, Mliki stressed the need to accelerate the formation of the government.
He called on Mechichi to make a regular assessment of the performance of the government team, to rethink the structure of the Interior Ministry and to work on reviving investment.
“The process of forming the government is about to end, especially as the PM-designate confirmed his decision to form a non-partisan government,” he said.
Mliki also noted the country’s obligation to deal with a series of hot issues, particularly the start of the school year, the start of the agricultural season, negotiations with financial institutions and the fear of a second wave of the COVID-19.
