Legendary midfielder, Stephen Appiah has applauded Andre Ayew for his leadership qualities.
Andre a huge impression after leading the country to win the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt.
The Swansea City forward has since risen to be named the captain for the senior national team, the Black Stars.
Coach Kwesi Appiah confirmed Andre Ayew as the substantive captain for the 2019 African Cup of Nation and pushed Asamoah Gyan to the General Captain position, a new position in the Black Stars team.
Appiah touched on Ayew’s leadership skills in his latest media engagement.
“Andre is a leader,” the former Juventus and Fernebache forward told Joy FM in an interview.
“The way he talks and the way he acts. Andre always wanted to win and will give everything on the pitch.
“He has leadership skills and I see a good leader,” added the former Black Stars captain.
Andre Ayew has netted 15 goals in 88 appearances since making his debut against Senegal in 2007.
He is also the deputy captain of Swansea City.
