The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has applauded StarTimes Ghana for the output of work during the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.

After being named as the Television Right holders of the Premier League and the FA Cup competitions in January by the Ghana FA, StarTimes followed up with beautiful and colorful coverage of the top-flight league.

Unfortunately, after making strides with their hard work, the football season had to be canceled as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Speaking in an interview with Max Radio on Monday, GFA President Kurt Okraku has indicated that he has been pleasantly surprised by the work done by the Chinese-owned broadcasters.

“We had good bids from interested parties. Eventually, StarTimes won the bid and I have been pleasantly surprised by the output of work put in by StarTimes.

“I think that by and large people have come to appreciate what we see on our screens from StarTimes”, Mr. Okraku said.

Meanwhile, the leader of the country’s football governing body has revealed that his outlet is working on packaging commentary of the various leagues in the country in a way that will help improve the sport.

“We are looking at how to repackage the Radio Commentary that is connected to the Premier League especially the Women’s Premier League and the Division One League.

“When that comes good it will also add value to our products and then obviously we are looking at other partnerships that we look at bringing on board for the good of the local game. I think we are in a good way”, the GFA boss added.
