The Principal Secretary at the State Department for Devolution, Charles Sunkuli, has asked all staff to self-isolate for 14 days after 18 employees tested positive for Covid-19.
This effectively means that operations at the key Ministry’s departments may grind to a halt for the next two weeks.
All staff are required to self isolate from August 3 to 16.
The virus cases were detected after a mass testing exercise conducted on 128 samples from the Ministry.
“The officers will be required to report back on August 17, 2020 for another round of mass testing,” Mr Sunkuli says in the internal memo seen by the Nation.
