The President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has given the Black Maidens and Princesses team the clearance to start camping to prepare for respective upcoming international assignments.

In the midst of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the government of the West African country has since March placed a ban on football activities.

With CAF preparing for qualifying games for upcoming U-17 and U-20 tournaments, the government has decided that it will be prudent for Ghana’s female teams for that category to starts camping.

In line with that, the Black Maidens and the Black Princesses have been given permission to start training.

“Our female U-20 and U-17 national football teams have been given the clearance to go into their respective training camps to begin preparations towards their FIFA and CAF international sanctioned matches which begin in September”, President Nana Addo said on Sunday night while addressing the nation.

H.E added, “Whiles in training, the playing, technical and management teams must observe strictly to all the protocols issued by government, CAF, and FIFA against Covid-19.

Meanwhile, all other team and non-contact sports as well as competitive sporting events remain suspended until further notice.
