The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) is backing Isaac Dogboe to record a win against Chris Avalos when he returns to the ring later tonight.
After more than a year, the Ghana boxer is returning to the ring in a highly-anticipated bout against an American opponent. With both fighters suffering defeats in their last 2 bouts, they are hoping to emerge victories today in a 8-round featherweight bout.
Speaking to Class FM in a build-up to the bout, Patrick Johnson who is the General Secretary for the GBA has stressed that they are strongly behind Isaac Dogboe to get back to winning ways.
“From the GBA point of view we know can Dogboe can bounce back and become a two-time world champion”, he said.
On whether it will be an easy affair against Chris Avalos, Patrick Johnson replied, “Not at all because Isaac Dogboe for his last two fights he also lost. It is not going to be a cheap fight because Chris is also a good fighter who we know he also has the punch. He is a very skilled boxer.
“He has even fought more than Isaac Dogboe so this is a 50-50 affair but we believe in our boxer that he will definitely bounce back and he is going to win this fight”.
The GBA General Secretary is confident Isaac Dogboe is ready for this bout and has done his corrections from the defeat to Mexico’s Emmanuel Navarrette which saw him losing his WBO World Jnr. Featherweight title.
Isaac Dogboe’s bout against Chris Avalos will be staged at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, USA. The time of the bout is at 9pm ET [01:00GMT].
